1.Drink plenty of water.<br />

3.Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants..<br />
4.Live with the 3 E&#8217;s &#8212; Energy, Enthusiasm and Empathy<br />
5.Make time to pray.<br />
6.Play more games<br />
7.Read more books than you did in 2009.<br />
8.Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day<br />
9.Sleep for 7 hours.<br />
10.Take a 10-30 minutes walk daily. And while you walk, smile.</p>
<p>Personality:<br />

11.Don&#8217;t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.<br />
12.Don&#8217;t have negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.<br />
13.Don&#8217;t over do. Keep your limits.<br />
14.Don&#8217;t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.<br />
15.Don&#8217;t waste your precious energy on gossip.<br />

<p>In the immortal words of Dean Vernon Wormer in the film &#8220;Animal House:&#8221; &#8220;Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life, son.&#8221; And it won&#8217;t make you rich either.</p>
<p>A new study published in the British Medical Journal finds the healthier you are, the richer you will be. Researchers examined the link between health and wealth in rich countries and found that <a href="http://www.wix.com/joolkano/healthxtend/"><strong>healthier people</strong> </a>are more productive at work, earn more and spend more days in the work force because they don&#8217;t take as much sick leave.</p>
<p>It may seem obvious but an investment in health produces big returns for individuals, their families and the economy as a whole.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s been widely accepted by economists that better health increases economic growth in poor countries. But the health-wealth correlation hadn&#8217;t been examined in rich countries. That was until Prof. Martin McKee of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and several of his colleagues took on the task in a study for the European Commission, the results of which were released this week.</p>
<p>They found some truly curious factors that lead to wealth, the first among them height. That&#8217;s right, the taller you are the more likely you&#8217;ll have more money than short people. Napoleon complex aside, height, it seems, has to do with childhood health.</p>
<p>&#8220;Some studies have examined measures such as height, which reflects health in childhood, and body mass index, which provides an indirect measure of health. All other things considered, taller people earn more than average whereas obese people tend to earn less, although the adverse consequences of obesity are greater for women than for men. However, these findings could reflect biases linked to the social acceptability of body images rather than a direct link to productivity,&#8221; the study says.</p>
<p>Whether linked to social acceptability or not, the fact remains, at least according to this data, that being a tall guy provides a far greater advantage for earning more money than being a fat woman.</p>
<p>This type of information may be upsetting to some, especially if you are, say, short and fat and a woman. But overall it points to the importance of public health in society. Indeed, the rationale for the study was to showcase that point.</p>
<p>Five years ago, a major international study concluded that ill health was contributing to the low level of economic growth in poor countries. The landmark report showed that investment in some basic health interventions would lead to substantial economic growth. Simply put, its conclusion was that a sick population is an expensive population.</p>
<p>Just look at Africa, where scant immunization, lack of access to health care and drugs, and communicable diseases add up to lower life expectancies, a drained work force and disabled economic growth.</p>
<p>Conversely, a study of 10 industrialized countries from the beginning of the 20th Century through the mid-1990s found that better health increased the rate of economic growth by about 30%. This has to do with better dietary and health standards instilled on these populations, as well as better medical care.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s an even better example: &#8220;In an analysis of 26 rich countries during 1960 to 2000, reductions in cardiovascular mortality emerge as a robust predictor of subsequent economic growth. In one model, a 10% fall in cardiovascular mortality is associated with a 1% increase in per capita income. Although this may not seem large, it amounts to a substantial contribution over the long term,&#8221; McKee&#8217;s study says.</p>
<p>Many studies show that better health increases both the number of hours worked and the probability an individual will be employed. Poor health, on the other hand, increases the likelihood that someone will be out of work or retire early.</p>
<p>Ill health also extends its effects to family members. In general, men whose wives become ill reduce the amount they work whereas women work more if their husbands become ill, the study finds. In either scenario, economically the family suffers.</p>
<p>Meanwhile,<a href="http://www.wix.com/joolkano/healthxtend/"><strong>healthy people</strong> </a>can put their money to work in other ways, namely to increase their quality of life. They are, for instance, more apt to invest in their own education, which will increase their productivity, and save more in expectation of a longer life &#8212; for example, for retirement &#8212; increasing the funds available for investment in the economy. This helps not only their prosperity, but also society.</p>

I believe many would say the same thing. But until recently, I did not know that not all chocolates are created equal. I read studies that “dark” chocolate contains cocoa phenols which have shown to lower blood pressure. Not to mention it is rich in anti-oxidants which help fight free radicals, destructive molecules which contribute to heart disease and other ailments.                             </p>
<p>Now milk chocolate and white chocolate on the other hand contains very little or no health benefits whatsoever. It’s delicious and palatable, I know but it is believed that the milk interferes with the delivery of any health benefits that dark chocolate possesses. So you can forget about washing down that healthy dark chocolate you ate with a glass of milk.</p>
<p>But how do you get pass that bitter taste that dark chocolate has? If you’re like me and have a sweet tooth it is tough to enjoy a piece of dark chocolate. So what do you do? You get creative. One way I found to enjoy dark chocolate is in a recipe called Warm and Soft Chocolate.</p>
<p>It is a recipe for a chocolate cup cake where inside contains a warm molten dark chocolate that oozes out when you cut into it. It is amazing! It makes the dark chocolate more palatable.</p>
<p>Here is the recipe for the Warm and Soft Chocolate:</p>
<p>Ingredients:</p>
<p>1/2 cup unsalted butter, plus more to butter the molds</p>
<p>4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, preferably Valrhona</p>
<p>2 eggs</p>
<p>2 egg yolks</p>
<p>1/4 cup sugar</p>
<p>2 teaspoons flour, plus more for dusting</p>
<p>Method:</p>
<p>1. In the top of a double boiler set over simmering water, heat the butter and chocolate together until the chocolate is almost completely melted. While that&#8217;s heating, beat together the eggs, yolks, and sugar with a whisk or electric beater until light and thick.</p>
<p>2. Beat together the melted chocolate and butter; it should be quite warm. Pour in the egg mixture, then quickly beat in the flour, just until combined.</p>
<p>3. Butter and lightly flour four 4-ounce molds, custard cups, or ramekins. Tap out the excess flour, then butter and flour them again. Divide the batter among the molds. (At this point you can refrigerate the desserts until you are ready to eat, for up to several hours; bring them back to room temperature before baking.)</p>
<p>4. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Bake the molds on a tray for 6 to 7 minutes; the center will still be quite soft, but the sides will be set.</p>
<p>5. Invert each mold onto a plate and let sit for about 10 seconds. Unmold by lifting up one corner of the mold; the cake will fall out onto the plate. Serve immediately.</p>

<p>A quick search on the definition of <em>MASK</em> gave me the following results…</p>
<p>A covering worn on the face to conceal one&#8217;s identity, as:</p>
<ul>
<li>A covering, as of cloth, that has openings for the eyes, entirely or partly conceals the face, and is worn especially at a masquerade ball.</li>
<li>A grotesque or comical representation of a face, worn especially to frighten or amuse, as at Halloween.</li>
<li>A facial covering worn for ritual.</li>
<li>A figure of a head worn by actors in Greek and Roman drama to identify a character or trait and to amplify the voice.</li>
</ul>
<p>Bear with me here. As we grow older our body’s ability to repair itself slows-down significantly. And due to this slowing down process, less collagen is produced and we lose elasticity to our skin which results in dryness or dehydration of the skin hence, producing wrinkles.</p>
<p>This is the most technical I want to get on this because if you’re like me, you want the simplest explanation to a problem followed by a proven solution.</p>
<p>So what is the solution?</p>
<p>What I found to be a great solution is using a mask; A wrinkle mask.  But unlike our definition of masks above which is designed to conceal one’s identity, our mask is designed not to conceal but to bring about or bring back our true identity.  </p>
<p>It is unfortunate that as we grow older many become embarrassed on how they look and this especially applies to women. Now we cannot stop the aging process but we sure can slow it down.</p>
<p>The key factor here is hydration. The better hydrated your skin the firmer and softer it will look.  Wrinkle lines will begin to be filled in giving you that healthy youthful appearance.</p>
<p>As always, begin with a good proper diet.  Lots of fish such as salmon, vegetable salads and fruits like cantaloupe. Foods such as these helps make your skin moist and supple.</p>
<p>As for the mask, you want to use one that can increase firmness and restore elasticity. A mask rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids is ideal in this case. Again, your overall goal here is hydration so limit your sun exposure or make sure you use some type of sun block, if being exposed to the sun for long periods of time.</p>
<p>You will confront dehydration both internally through foods that provides lots of moisture to your skin and externally using masks that also provides moisture rich minerals to your skin.  Lastly, do not forget to drink enough water throughout the day.</p>
<p>These solutions are simple and easy but just because they are do not discount their effectiveness. Many of life’s great problems have simple solutions and getting rid of wrinkles is definitely one of them.</p>

<p>Glycation is even more dangerous to your health than free radicals.  The process of glycation is complex, but basically, it interferes with the cells&#8217; ability to get the amino acids that they need from the protein-rich foods that you eat.</p>
<p>The digestive system breaks down large protein molecules into smaller amino acids, which are then re-combined to form the different proteins that are needed to create cells, fibers, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, joints and bones. When Glycating agents, which are primarily simple carbohydrates and sugars, interfere with this process, cellular reproduction slows down. </p>
<p>The result is pain, muscular weakness, fatigue and eventually chronic disease.  As antioxidants prevent free radical damage, carnosine, an amino acid complex, prevents glycation and is an effective anti-aging therapy. </p>
<p>Methylation is something like the opposite of glycation.  Methylation is essential to life and if it is not working at optimum levels, you’ll start to have health problems, which may include heart disease, liver disease, depression and high cholesterol. </p>
<p>The body’s methylation processes naturally slow down due to age, disease and malnourishment.  To restore the balance, the necessary nutrients include the B vitamins, folic acid, Tri-methyl-glycine (TMG) and SAM-e.  The importance of SAM-e to improve methylation is significant.  But, most supplements that contain it are ineffective, because stomach acid renders it inactive.  A supplement must have what is called an enteric coating that allows it to pass through the stomach and into the small intestine, where it can be broken down and enter the bloodstream where it goes to work.</p>
<p>Your daily multi-vitamin probably contains some antioxidants and B-vitamins, but very few supplements on the market contain antioxidants like: flavonoids, alpha lipoic acid, turmeric, glutathione, resveratrol, B-vitamins, carnosine, TMG and SAM-e.  An enteric coating is rarely included, because it costs more. </p>
<p>The importance of carnosine, resveratrol, TMG and SAM-e are not heavily advertised, because…again…they are expensive ingredients.  A pharmaceutical company is about to release their own line of resveratrol supplements, although they are calling them prescription drugs.  Those of us that pay attention to research concerning unique nutritional supplements have been taking resveratrol for years and will continue to do so, without paying the price that the pharmaceutical company will charge.</p>
<p>There is another problem with most vitamin supplements on the market.  The antioxidants that they contain are synthetic, not natural.  The synthetic versions of vitamins are “similar” to those found in nature, but they are not “identical” and they do not provide the same health benefits. </p>
<p>For example, numerous studies have shown the health benefits of vitamin E in the prevention of free radical damage, the improvement of circulation, for tissue repair, to reduce inflammation and reduce the risk of cancer.  But, when researchers try to duplicate these results, using the synthetic form of vitamin E, it cannot be done.  In fact, synthetic vitamin E may actually be bad for your health, because it is derived from toxic petroleum byproducts.</p>
<p>The bottom line is that most supplement companies do not use the correct form of a nutrient (natural) and they do not use the correct delivery system, which, in most cases, is a tablet with an enteric coating. </p>
